Tis the Season

Well sick season is here again and poor Ryder man caught it. He has been sick since saturday with a nasty nose and a cough so I decided to take him to the doctor. Since he is an RSV and pneumonia baby everything seems to go straight to his lungs so we visit the doc alot. On Monday the doc said he had an ear infection and his lungs sounded good. We got the usual antibiotic and went on our way. Yesterday he was worse. Uncontrollable snot, red puffy eyes, deep cough and a fever. So I take him this morning again. The doc listens to his lungs and they are course sounding which is no good for Ryder. She orders and X-ray.(at this point I am thinking if this kid has pneumoia and it isn't even cold outside I am going to be pissed) She said they look splotchy and wet but no pneumonia. She checks his ear out again and it is worse. So Ryder gets a shot of Rocephin and the usual breathing treatment and we go back tomorrow to check on the ear again. It looks like it is going to be a long season. They say RSV babies are doomed for the first year. Well Ryder will be One in a month and it looks like he may pack in as many doc appt as possible before his first birthday!
